16:30 NIR identification of Black APET and CPET and other plastics with high speed automatic sorting equipment
Until recently it has not been possible to automatically detect black plastics that have been pigmented by carbon black due to the absorption of the NIR signal. Nextek has successfully developed classes of black pigments that can be used with APET and CPET and yet ensure that they do not remain in the unidentified stream that usually does not get recycled.
